The official race route was announced on December 1 in Rome, alongside the 2026 Giro d’Italia men’s route. This is the third year the RCSS has organized the event.
The Giro d’Italia Women route spans 1,153.7 kilometers, starting in Cesenatico, the birthplace of Marco Pantani. It will traverse the stunning gravel roads of the Passo del Finestre before concluding in Saluzzo, with the final finish line in Sestriere.
The route includes an individual time trial, two flat stages, three medium-mountain stages, and two high-mountain stages.
The Giro d’Italia Women is a historic and globally renowned women’s road cycling race, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and influential events in the sport.
By 2026, the race will celebrate its 37th edition, featuring nine stages.
The Women’s Vuelta España, Giro d’Italia Women, and Tour de France Femmes are the three premier events on the Women’s World Tour calendar. The Women’s Vuelta España kicks off the Grand Tours in early May, followed by the Giro d’Italia Women in early June 2026, while the Tour de France Femmes returns in late July on the international calendar.
